→ 11.10.07 ::
yesterday i had a chance to visit the battlefields of gettysburg with leadership
professor
mike useem and two members of the wharton leadership
advisory board. it was an incredible experience and one of the many times
i'm thankful for the multitude of outside the classroom learning
opportunities wharton provides. a quick snapshot of our day: "the
evolving strategies, command structures, and battlefield decisions of the
gettysburg struggle contain enduring messages for thinking about our own
leadership, teamwork, and decision making, whatever the moment. in
visiting the battlefield, we will seek to understand how the federal and
confederate commanders, both high and low, faced their moments of
decision. we will compare leadership styles, systems of authority, and reactions
to the ever changing battlefield conditions."
